Short version: we set one cookie, it holds a random number, and we don't run advertising or profiling cookies of any kind.

The cookie is httpOnly, meaning no JavaScript on this site — ours or anyone else's — can read it.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to count page views and a handful of events, such as starting the quiz or clicking through to a vendor. It is cookieless and aggregated: it tells us that a page was viewed, not who viewed it. No analytics cookie is placed on your device.
What we don't do
- No advertising, retargeting or profiling cookies.
- No third-party tracking pixels, and no sharing of your browsing with ad networks.
- No cross-site tracking. We cannot see where you go after you leave this site.
- No selling of personal data.
Vendor sites are a different story
When you click a link to Deel, Rippling or any other platform we cover, you land on their site and their cookie practices take over — most of them do run advertising and analytics cookies. We append UTM parameters to the destination URL so they can credit the referral. Once you are there, read their policy, not ours.
Turning the cookie off
You can block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings at any time. Nothing on PickYourHR breaks if you do — the comparisons, quiz and calculator all work without it. The only effect is that we lose the ability to tell which page produced a referral.
